For most of us, at times life can be challenging. We can experience many things that can lead to anxiety, depression and low self-worth. We often fear judgement of others, feeling vulnerable and alone, suppressing our feelings and emotions. We can adopt unhelpful coping strategies that keep us feeling trapped and isolated struggling to make sense of things.
I speak from experience; my journey into counselling began after I had therapy for depression and social anxiety. The process of being heard, accepted and understood was truly life changing. I grew as a person and began my journey of self-discovery. From this moment on I became passionate about supporting other people in navigating their own paths to happiness and fulfilment.
I have worked as a counsellor for the past five years, beginning as a bereavement volunteer for Cruse, then supporting adults at Telford After Care Team with many varied mental health challenges. In 2019 I took a post as a school counsellor which led me to working with children and teenagers in primary, secondary mainstream, special schools and a pupil referral unit.
I learned so much in this time and continue to work with young people as well as adults in my private practice.
I work on a 1 to 1 basis using a combination of the following types of therapy:
